Utopai Studios has released PAI 2.0, an upgraded generative video platform that adds a creative agent, voice input, native cinematic 4K output, and separate Easy and Pro creation modes. The company said the platform is generating $11 million in annual recurring revenue and will allow existing users to migrate at a reduced rate before PAI 1.0 expires on July 2.
Utopai Studios has unveiled PAI 2.0, an enhanced version of its generative video storytelling platform, less than three months after the initial version debuted. According to Variety, the new version introduces a creative agent, voice input, rapid variant generation, 2×2 keyframes for each 15-second segment, and native cinematic 4K output without limits.
The platform is now split between Easy Mode, which guides users from planning through storyboarding to finished product, and Pro Mode, which offers the Canvas workspace for organizing, editing, and regenerating videos with granular control. The company said PAI is currently generating $11 million in annual recurring revenue and is targeting marketing agencies and creators.
Existing PAI users can migrate to the new version at a reduced subscription rate before PAI 1.0 expires on July 2; monthly, annual, and customized business plans are planned. Mountain View, California-based Utopai Studios was co-founded in 2022 by CEO Cecilia Shen (formerly of Google X), chief scientific officer Zijian He, and chief technology officer Jie Yang. The firm has drawn support from NBA stars Carmelo Anthony, who invested through his production company Creative 7 and joined as a strategic partner, and James Harden, who produced an animated short using the platform.
