HP Inc. scales OpenAI Frontier strategic partnership following enterprise pilot successes

HP Inc. announced it will scale activation of its OpenAI Frontier strategic partnership after pilots showed strong results, with plans to deploy AI across customer experiences, operations, software development, and cybersecurity. Frontier will serve as a unified governance and evaluation layer for HP’s enterprise-wide AI workflows and agent deployments.

HP Inc. announced on June 28, 2026, that it will scale activation of its OpenAI Frontier strategic partnership following a series of pilots that began in February 2026. The company plans to deploy AI across its organization in areas including customer and partner-facing solutions, customer telemetry insights and reporting, employee productivity, and software development.

Early pilot results cited by OpenAI include one engineer moving through 122 pull requests across 43 projects in weeks, and a security team remediating software bugs in a day—work estimated to otherwise take up to a month. HP teams also estimated that roughly 82 hours per week of security-team capacity was unlocked by using ChatGPT to proactively remediate critical vulnerabilities and speed security analysis.

Frontier is positioned as a connective layer to manage access, context, deployment, and evaluation as HP expands from pilots to production AI workflows and agents. Key workstreams include building self-service AI across HP’s partner portal and store ecosystem, enhancing its Workforce Experience Platform with device telemetry reasoning, and supporting software delivery through ChatGPT and Codex.
