Anthropic Redeploys Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 After U.S. Lifts Export Controls
Anthropic is restoring global access to Claude Fable 5 and U.S. access to Mythos 5 after the U.S. government lifted export controls imposed on June 12, 2026. The company also deployed an improved safety classifier to address a reported jailbreak technique.
Anthropic announced that access to Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 is being restored after the U.S. government lifted export controls that took effect on June 12, 2026. Claude Fable 5 will be available globally starting July 1, 2026, on the Claude Platform, Claude.ai, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork, following the removal of restrictions that had forced Anthropic to suspend access for all users. Access to Mythos 5 has also been restored for a set of U.S. organizations. Anthropic said it addressed a reported safeguard bypass by training an improved safety classifier that blocks the specific technique in over 99% of cases. Source: Anthropic News
