Anthropic Introduces Claude Tag for Slack Team Collaboration
Anthropic introduced Claude Tag in beta for Enterprise and Team customers, a Slack integration that lets teams tag @Claude as a collaborative channel member to delegate tasks asynchronously. The tool features persistent memory, proactive ambient updates, and administrative controls over tools and spend, and Anthropic reports its internal version now generates 65% of its product team’s code.
Anthropic announced Claude Tag on June 23, 2026, a new team-oriented integration that allows Claude to participate as a member in Slack channels. Available in beta for Claude Enterprise and Team customers, Claude Tag replaces the existing Claude in Slack app and enables users to delegate tasks by tagging @Claude.
Claude Tag operates as a shared, multiplayer agent within a channel, building context over time from channel history and connected tools or data sources. With permission, it can learn from other Slack channels and data sources, and Anthropic notes it does not report from private channels. It can work asynchronously, schedule its own tasks, and optionally provide proactive "ambient" updates. Administrators control access to tools and data on a per-channel basis, set token spend limits, and can audit activity logs. Anthropic stated that 65% of its product team’s code is created by an internal version of Claude Tag. The integration works with Opus 4.8.
To migrate, administrators must opt in within 30 days. Eligible organizations will receive introductory launch credits. Source: Anthropic News
