Wang Xiaochuan founded Baichuan AI in April 2023 after leaving Sohu and Sogou (which he founded and ran for 20 years). Baichuan-2 and Baichuan-4 are competitive Chinese-language models with notable medical/healthcare specialisation. One of the more vocal industry voices on Chinese AI policy.
